Nearly one month after graduating with her bachelor's degree, Mel Orrell '17 (Gloucester, Mass.) continues to set firsts for Southern Vermont College as the women's lacrosse alumna was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) 2016-17 Academic All-America Division III Women's At-Large Third Team on Tuesday.

Southern Vermont College conferred degrees to more than 82 graduating candidates (including two College Steps Certificates and three Computed Tomography Certificates) at its 90thCommencement exercises on Saturday, May 13.
Elmira College celebrated the graduation of 328 students during its 162nd Commencement on Sunday, June 4 at the Murray Athletic Center, Pine Valley. The exercises included the conferring of 296 undergraduate and 32 graduate degrees.
14 new members were inducted into the Sigma Xi scientific research honor society at Ithaca College.
Thirty one students were inducted into the Western New England University Pynchon Chapter of the National Senior Honor Society of Mortar Board.
SUNY Oswego has awarded Merit Scholarships to a select group of students who are starting at the college in fall 2016. The Merit awards are $3,000 over four years. For non-New York state students, the total award can increase to as much as $39,000 in combination with a Destination Oswego scholarship.
308 first-year students have been awarded an Enrichment Scholarship this year.
The Roger Williams University Engineers Without Borders student club traveled deep into the mountains of northern Dominican Republic during Spring Break to provide a design solution for a serious public health issue.
During the week of March 7th, 16 Emmanuel students participated in the College's annual Alternative Spring Break (ASB) in Boston, Massachusetts, learning about, connecting with and taking positive action in the community in which they live and learn. ASB is a week-long, faith-based service trip held during the College's traditional spring break that bridges volunteer work with education and reflection on larger social issues.
